Breastfeeding your baby can be an incredible and rewarding experience for both of you, but getting there is not easy for many moms and babies. Often it takes time (days, weeks, or even months) and the help of others before you and your baby get in sync and find your best fit together.

It is very common for new moms to have a lot of questions and concerns about breastfeeding in the weeks and months after the birth of their baby. Our breastfeeding support group offers a safe and comfortable way to get the support and help of a trained Lactation Consultant, as well as to exchange information and experiences with other moms.

In addition, going to a group is a great opportunity to get out of the house and connect with other adults who understand this time period!

Many women have questions about whether their baby is getting enough food, or simply like to come weigh, feed, and weigh, just to reassure themselves (or sometimes to reassure their concerned family members).

Some moms are working hard to get breastfeeding to succeed, but may have friends or family members who don't understand and may even encourage her to stop trying. Others may be feeling too much pressure from others, and need some support and alternatives when other attempts aren't working.

Bring all of your questions about breast engorgement, milk supply, sore nipples, burping challenges, changing routines, foods to avoid -- whatever you are struggling with or hoping to prevent.

Come have a cup of tea and share, complain, laugh, or cry with others who can understand, and learn some new tips and techniques to make your life a little easier and your bond with your child stronger and more relaxed.

This group is facilitated by Bridget Owen, lactation consultant, and is open for you to drop-in any and all weeks you can make it! Fee is on a sliding scale, at your discretion, of $5-$15 dollars per visit. Please call or write for more information.
