Herbalism for Youth: A Hands-On Journey into the World of Plants
Classes start January 29th, 2026
When: January 29 - April 16, 2026 (no class 3/12 or 3/19)
Time: 11:00AM - 1:00PM
Where: Boulder Creek, CA directions and intake form will be sent upon registration
Cost: $300/10-week full series OR $35/drop-in class | pre-registration payment is required
In our exciting 10-week late Winter~early Spring series, we will embark on a hands-on adventure into the world of herbalism, where nature’s plants become powerful allies for health, wellness and joy-filled discovery. Designed specifically for young learners, this course will focus on the art of making simple remedies with gentle, yet effective herbs. Through fun, project-based learning, participants will get the chance to harvest, prepare, and create fun nature-based projects to take home.
The beauty of herbalism lies in its connection to the earth, and students will not only gain practical skills in working with plants but also develop a deeper respect for nature. From learning how to properly care for a garden to mastering the process of medicine-making, they will see how herbalism is rooted in sustainable practices and traditions passed down through generations. This course will teach them how to make wellness part of their daily lives, using simple ingredients from the garden, kitchen, supermarket, and nature.
Whether your child is curious about nature, loves crafting, or is interested in learning more about how plants can support health, this series is a wonderful way to engage their curiosity and creativity. Together, we will cultivate a lifelong love for Nature, plants, self-care, and the joy of making remedies with our own hands!
This class is designed for boys & girls ranging 4 - 11 years old. Must be courteous and mindful working with others. Please pack a snack & water bottle for comfort and wear layered clothing as we spend much of our time outside.

My 10yo son takes the class since last spring and enjoys every second of it. The class takes place either inside or outside depending on the topic and the weather. Kids get to go on a supervised walks and get familiar with the greens around them, learn their names, feel and smell them. During class the activities change making it fun and enjoyable. Students draw and write in their nature journals, work with dried herbs and learn its purposes, make their own medicine. They are very proud to bring it home, use it and observe the benefits. My son devoted a special place at home for his herbal apothecary and refers to it as needed. Great place to be in, highly recommended!

Bridget’s classes with Sweet Herb Medicinals are exceptional - but particularly her youth classes. This is exactly the reason we chose to homeschool: to provide our children with a comprehensive education that is full of WONDER. Nature offers such a rich opportunity to weave together subjects of science, math, art, medicine, history, culinary skills, the list goes on… and most importantly, Bridget does this in a way that is absolutely enchanting for children. I don’t know many people with the ability to interact with children in such a loving, patient and engaging manner that brings out each child’s curiosity to the degree that Bridget’s classes render. If you have the opportunity to enroll your children, they will be so fortunate to have the chance to cultivate a wealth of knowledge about all that the natural world has to share with us. Don’t miss it!

My 7 and 9 year old loved this class. Ms Bridget is such a light! She is engaging, compassionate, patient, creative and kind. You can tell she really loves what she does, and is super knowledgeable about herbalism. I would definitely recommend, and hope to take more classes in the future.
