Limoncello

Limonecello: When life gives you lemons...  Sweet and soothing, potent and relaxing, Limoncello is a bright yellow digestive & liqueur that tastes like a kiss from the sun. Italy is the world's largest producer of lemons, so it comes as no surprise that Italians would create such beauty in a bottle with this plentiful fruit. Dating back as far as the 1600's, Italian nuns have been known to use this citrus-based liqueur to give sfogiatella its authentic taste. My favorite pastry of all-time, by the way!! Yum!

Lemons dot the entire country, however limoncello hails from the Mediterranean region of Southern Italy, primarily the Amalfi Coast where abundant sunshine and juicy fruit produce citrus which are oh-so-sweet and larger than a football.
